Reasons for investing in the Cape Verde Stock Exchange are many and include the following: Firstly, Cape Verde´s emerging economy with a strong potential for growth. Secondly, Cape Verde´s good governance has been recognized and rewarded by the Millennium Challenge Cooperation for (1) rule by law, (2) transparency and (3) accountability. In addition, fixed parity against the euro, the tax system, member of the World Trade Organization, Special Partnership with the European Union, are all factors that reduce uncertainty and investor´s exposure to risks at the national level. 

In the government’s program for the 7th legislature of November, 2006 it reads:

“the transformation of Cape Verde´s financial sector requires a modern, dynamic and efficient financial sector in that the development of effective and efficient financial services should eventually become one of the foundations of the government´s economy. Therefore, the government will continue to give strategic priority to exploring the financial sector. A financial sector capable of bringing about economic growth. A financial sector that in and of itself is a growth engine.”
